Certainly, we have the means to interact with one another. Yet, as the author so aptly points out, we each take our own separate journeys while surfing the internet.

Her examples of two children and two adult women were powerful. It was as if these people had used completely different games/internet sites. Their personal interpretations didn’t match up with one another’s. As the author points out, “How could they speak coherently about a world full of little wordless pictograms, about trails that led off in all directions, of idle visits to virtual places chosen on a whim-click?” (640)

When comparing our own experiences, we can all relate to this analogy.
